Cetralin also contains a herbal tincture of Cetraria islandica (Iceland Moss). Iceland Moss is a western herbal preparation which has traditionally been used for centuries in medicine in Iceland, Norway, Finland, Russia and Sweden. It contains water soluble polysaccharides (lichenin and isolichenin) which form a soothing, protective, mucous-like coating on the mucosa of the upper respiratory tract and throat. It gently helps to ease and protect an irritated, inflamed throat which is associated with a cough.

The cough syrup has been individually formulated in two varieties: Cetralin Adult and Cetralin Children. This is because children’s conditions are different in character to those in adults. Also, children and adults are physiologically different and therefore respond differently to treatment.

The formulation has been specially designed to help provide soothing relief for an irritating and persistent or spasmodic cough with associated wheezing, tight chest and hoarseness. This type of cough may also be accompanied by very stubborn mucous that sits heavily in the chest that you simply cannot seem to get out.

Cetralin will help loosen and expel this type of thick, stubborn mucous, and will ease wheezing and a tight chest due to cough. Cetralin also contains ingredients which help to relieve hoarseness that is associated with cough and will help to soothe and protect a dry, irritated and inflamed throat.

Cetralin is preservative free, codeine free, does not contain any cough suppressants, is free from artificial colourants, and is non-drowsy.
